Consulting Senior Research Analyst
Ruth Adkins's professional association with Martha DeLong and John H. Campbell dates back to 1988, when she moved to Portland and took her first job as a market research analyst. Having graduated from Yale University with a Master's degree in liberal arts, she transitioned her academic skills into a talent for the research business, where her ability to make sense of mounds of data and her clear, engaging writing style have served her well ever since.
Ruth has experience with all facets of market research, from data collection and focus group moderation to quantitative and qualitative analysis. She's written more research reports than she might like to admit, but continues to enjoy the challenge of conveying complex information to clients in a readable, interesting way.
In addition to many years of experience in market research, Ruth has worked as a copyeditor and for local nonprofits doing office and database management. She also is deeply involved as a community activist and volunteer on a variety of schools and political issues. Ruth recently took her civic involvement to a new level: In May 2007, she was elected, in a citywide race, to the Portland School Board.
Since the early 1990s, Ruth has worked with Campbell DeLong Resources, Inc., both on staff and also in her most recent role, as a consulting writer and analyst.
